Baltimore improves local school

What's Happening at LandCare

Our Baltimore team recently enhanced the entrance to Lakeland Elementary, a local school in need of a redesigned landscape. Seven LandCare team members spent the day removing leaves and other debris from the front of the school, creating plant beds, and installing fresh plant materials.

Branch Manager Aaron Engel met with the school’s secretary on several occasions prior to the event. They developed a plan to create a more welcoming environment for students and their families by adding 12 rose bushes, 20 shrubs, and over 40 perennials to the perimeter of the front office.

The enhancement idea was brought to the branch by Northrup Grumman, an existing LandCare client that recently invested over $1 million to build Lakeland a brand-new facility dedicated to science, technology, engineering, art, and math. The new center will also offer services for adults to allow lower-skilled laborers in the community to learn a trade.
