Oklahoma City hosts CommunityCare Day movie night

What's Happening at LandCare

The Oklahoma City branch recently hosted a movie night at the Kids Korral, a non-profit organization that provides short-term lodging for children with cancer. The LandCare team donated popcorn, candy, and beverages and spent time watching the movie and interacting with the kids.

“The Kids Korral is a neat place,” said Donnie Peak, Branch Manager. “The movie night was fun for the kids and rewarding for our volunteers.”

Located directly across the street from the local hospital, the goal of the facility is to alleviate stress of travel for families who live more than an hour away from treatment centers. The large campus is capable of hosting 12 families for overnight stays, including meals, transportation, and a laundry room. The Korral also features a playground, reflection garden, and private movie theater, which allows the children to experience some fun in between visits to the hospital.
