Analog Devices

Case Studies,Professional Office Environment

Located in the heart of Oregon’s “Silicon Forest,” Analog Devices is a company that designs, manufactures, and markets integrated circuits for analog and digital signal processing.

Formerly known as Maxim Integrated, the Analog Devices buildings sprawl across 10 acres of land. For this project, the client had one unique concern to address: the property was being overrun by geese.

Challenges

1) In an area which hosts a variety of wildlife, the Analog Devices property was plagued with geese. At any given time, there could be over 100 geese wandering the property with no easy way to remove them. The geese were not only inconvenient for tenants and guests to maneuver around, but they would also leave excrement wherever they went, posing health and cleanliness concerns.

2) In addition, the Portland area experienced a very wet spring in 2022, posing major timing challenges for maintenance and enhancement work on the property.

Solutions

1) To safely and naturally combat the constant barrage of geese, our team came up with the creative solution to place and move coyote statues around the property. Using coyote statues as a repellent was both creative and effective, preventing a resort to harmful methods.

2) Constant wet weather in Portland is a major challenge for our team. While the rain helps to naturally water the plant material, cutting down on irrigation, we must quickly adjust mowing schedules to keep the property well-maintained while working around the weather.
