Nashville Account Manager Katie Newbern, North Bay Production Manager Natalie Davis, Raleigh Account Manager Tabitha McComas, and Baltimore Business Development Manager Mary Kirby attended SiteOne’s 23rd annual Women in the Green Industry (WIGI) conference last week.

Women from all over the country gathered in Tucson, Ariz. for the four-day professional development event to grow their industry network and learn about different aspects of building a successful landscaping business. The event also featured keynote speaker Susan Packard, co-founder of Scripps Network Interactive and former chief operating officer at HGTV, who highlighted emotional fitness and discussed how to develop supportive work relationships for leaders while fostering a healthy company culture.

“As a newcomer in the industry, WIGI was helpful to network and discuss best workplace practices with other ladies who have experienced similar situations,” said Tabitha McComas, Raleigh AM. “One topic that really resonated with me was ‘Your supervisor is more important to your health than your primary care physician’ and the importance of how we treat one another at work every day.”

The event concluded with a community service project led by Project Evergreen. Participants replaced irrigation heads, checked water flow, painted park ramadas & benches, and collected trash to clean up public spaces around the city of Tucson.
