Richmond team revitalizes landscape at East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad

What's Happening at LandCare

The Richmond, VA team volunteered to clean up the landscape at East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad (EHVRS), a nonprofit emergency response organization that provides support to first responders in the greater Richmond community. The team spent the day clearing out overgrown areas of the property and added a flower bed in front of the flagpole and monument sign onsite.

LandCare branch manager & EHVRS volunteer Lisa Saunders recognized an opportunity for LandCare to help after the EHVRS board addressed the issue of overgrown plants at a recent meeting.

“Many of the plants along the fence line were growing into the neighboring HOA property, so we took the opportunity to put our landscaping expertise to good use,” Lisa explained. “It felt great to help out EHVRS considering how much these volunteer first responders do for our community.”

EHVRS volunteers work with local dispatchers to provide emergency medical services to the community. To learn more about EHVRS, please visit EHVRS.org.
