CommunityCare meets Cushman Cares: Atlanta teams partner with Cushman & Wakefield to enhance local shelter

What's Happening at LandCare

Two LandCare teams recently partnered with property management company Cushman & Wakefield to renovate the Evolution Center, a non-profit facility that provides emotional and physical support for men experiencing chronic homelessness in Atlanta.

The project was brought to the teams through Cushman Cares, a community outreach committee that organizes service events for Cushman & Wakefield employees. Nine LandCare team members from both Atlanta branches donated and installed 50 new plants around the front entrance, working alongside over 150 Cushman Cares volunteers.

“We’re always looking for opportunities to get involved in the Atlanta community, so the partnership was really a no-brainer for us,” said Russ Offerman, LandCare’s Business Development Manager.

LandCare volunteers edged surrounding areas of the property and cleaned up the center’s courtyard space. They also recruited tree services from their contacts at Downey Trees, who graciously sent a team to remove and trim overgrown trees two days ahead of the event. The Downey Trees team even donated 30 yards of fresh mulch that was spread around the newly installed plants.

“The assistance that Downey Trees provided was tremendous,” added Tre Hiltzheimer, Branch Manager. “We’re lucky to have vendors who share our values and who will offer a helping hand at a moment’s notice.”
